A Maison Odiot Silver Covered Bidet, Paris, circa 1900 Marks: (O-oil lamp), Mon ODIOT, PARIS, 5799, (Minerva) 16 x 19-1x2 x 12 inches (40.6 x 49.5 x 30.5 cm) (overall) 6915 grams (222.33 troy ounces) The hourglass bidet with a roll-over rim above wave-like patterning, conforming lid with applied wave motif along edge and to the knob handle, on stand with foliate cabriole legs with wave motif at calf and scroll-form feet. The consignor acquired the bidet from a member of Clark Gable's family, and remembers seeing it when visiting the Gable family as a child.
