A Meissen Hausmaler olio pot and cover, circa 1720-25, the decoration circa 1730
Decorated in Augsburg, probably by Anna Elisabeth Wald, each side with a chinoiserie scene within a gilt scrollwork cartouche flanked by indianische Blumen between gilt scrollwork borders, the handles, feet and interior of the bowl and cover with a burnished gilt ground, the cover with three chinoiserie vignettes flanked by gilt scrollwork and trellis panels, the rim with a border of gilt scrollwork alternating with flowers and foliage reserved on a red ground, 16.5cm across handles; 13cm high (chip to one foot, very minor losses to gilding) (2)
