A Meissen octagonal sugar bowl and cover, circa 1728
Painted with a continuous Kauffahrtei scene depicting merchants and their wares by a quayside between gilt borders, the cover with two similar vignettes within gilt and purple lines and a trellis band reserved with four flower panels, the rim with a green band between gilt borders, 11cm across; 7.9cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 39. to both (very minor wear to gilding on cover) (2)
