A Meissen porcelain Marcolini Period cabinet cup and saucer, the cup painted with a portrait of Henri IV, and the saucer with a portrait of The Duke of Sully (Duc De Sully), both bearing blue crossed swords and Marcolini marks, the saucer numbered '28', cup 6.5cm high, saucer 13.5cm diameter (minor faults, see condition report) (2)

The cup shows scratching to the interior, a small chip to one top corner of the handle and a loss to the gilt finish to the other. There appears to be some kind of fibrous residue to the area across from the top right of the portrait just below the rim (possibly label residue). The foot rim shows the odd small flaked chip and some ingrained dirt. The gilt highlights show minor rubbing throughout. The cup rings when pinged.
The saucer shows a small flaked loss approximately 2mm wide to the rim, and an area of heavy rubbing to the gilt rim below the portrait (possibly from some kind of stand). In addition the gilt highlights show minor rubbing throughout. The foot rim shows expected wear and some ingrained dirt. The saucer rings when pinged.
