A Meissen porcelain chocolate pot with yellow ground and chinoiseries

Of cylindrical form with rounded shoulders and a shallow domed lid with a pinecone finial. The body and lid decorated with finely painted Chinoiserie figures in bizarre landscapes. The shoulders, spout and handle with indianische blumen. Blue crossed swords mark with curved guards on the unglazed underside. The spout reattached, some firing faults, minor wear. H 17.3 cm.
Circa 1730/35, decor attributed to Adam Friedrich von Löwenfinck.

Acquired in 1989 from Kunsthandel Zemlin, Hannover.
