A Meissen porcelain cup and cover with merchant navy scenes
A tapering beaker of octagonal section with a rounded lower section and original conforming lid with dragon finial. Decorated with finely painted merchant navy scenes in large gilt reserves. The lower section with harbour landscapes en camaieu on gold ground in eight arched reserves. The lid with four identical reserves. Blue crossed swords mark, unidentified dreher's mark with four circles, 7. in gold (beaker and cover). The lid restored over a breakage, the gilding with minor retouches. H with lid 19.4 cm.
