A Meissen porcelain cup and saucer with Ganymede
The cup decorated with a portrait in an oval medallion inscribed "GANIMEDER." "schönsten aller Schönen", depicting Zeus' favoured consort. The saucer painted with a scroll and laurel branch amid clouds. Blue crossed swords mark with star and 4 and with II and 4 (saucer). Two restored rim chips. H of cup 8.5, D of saucer 14.3 cm.
