A Meissen porcelain dinner plate and side dish from the dinner service for Count Finck von Finckenstein

Decorated with Continental birds in water landscapes framed by floral arbours and a fruit and flower still life in the centre. Blue crossed swords mark, dreher's number 22 (plate) and 61 (dish). Minor scratches, the gilt edges redone. D plate 25.2, D dish 21.8 cm.
C. 1760 - 63.

Both pieces originate from a dinner and dessert service presented by Friedrich II to his minister Karl Wilhelm Finck von Finckenstein (1714 – 1800).

Acquired in 1988 from Heinz Reichert, Munich. Collection of Renate and Tono Dreßen.
