A Meissen porcelain figure group modelled as a young faun with drum riding a lioness. probably early 20th century. Various marks to base. 18cm high. Historic damage, loss, repair and restoration. Fritting and chipping to edge of base. Faun's right ankle and hoof are absent. Drumstick missing from the hand of the raised right arm. The tip of the lioness's right ear chipped. The tip of the dog's tongue is chipped. The loop of the tail broken and is absent. There is evidence of a restoration to the top swag of the faun's cape, which has been reattached. The repair flouresces under UV 'blacklight' but no other repairs are evident under such.
