A Meissen porcelain lidded cup and saucer commemorating Admiral Howe

Opulently painted with purple scale pattern and beadwork, naturalistic flowers and rich gilding, the cup with a portrait en grisaille. The original lid painted with the English crown and sceptre in a round medallion, the saucer with maritime attributes amid clouds. Blue crossed swords mark with star, blue dash in the basal ring. H with lid 10.7, D of saucer 13.5 cm.
