A Minton encaustic stoneware bread plate, c.1850, designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (1812-1852), the blue rim with motto 'Waste not want not' in Gothic script interspersed with cinquefoil motifs, the brown centre with a radiating wheatsheaf design, impressed to the base '430', 33cm diameter Condition Report: The rim with some minor scuffs and gray marks. These occur throughout the non glazed sections of the plate. No detected cracks or structural imperfections.
