A Minton porcelain dessert service, late 19th century, each decorated with a central ornithological study, within a turquoise border decorated with a continuous band of flora and foliage, gilt key motif banding, shaped rim, most with impressed maker's mark to underside, comprising: sixteen plates, each 23cm diameter, and three tazzas, each 24cm diameter (19)

One bird of prey plate shows a stained star crack to the well visible on both sides of the plate. The odd plate shows a small chip to the foot rim (including some overglazed chips) and the odd one shows a small glazing fault. Two plates shows a small chip to the rim. One of the tazzas shows hairline cracks and crazing to the foot, and another shows an area of crazing to the foot. All pieces show rubbing to the gilt highlights (extensive in places). All pieces show wear commensurate with age and use, including surface scratching, cutlery marks, wear to the painted panels and some staining (most noticeable to the underside of the tazzas).
