A sculptural sketch for the larger statue of Saint Adalbert with a crutch is a bravura work. The statue made of polychrome and gilded wood, painted in places, stands on a chubby plinth with a framed inscription. Saint Adalbert of the Slavonic family was a critic of the superficial attitude to Christianity prevailing in Bohemia, he spoke out against attitudes in the society of his time that were not in line with the Church's teachings, especially against paganism, the Christian slave trade, and widespread alcoholism. Excellent preserved condition.
