A 'Motoring Lady' glazed earthenware figure by Amphora, Bohemeia, circa 1910, - approx 15" tall-Featured on the cover of Zolomij's Book, The Motor Car in Art
molded, fully marked under base, hand-painted with underglaze, colored glazes and overglaze, with rich and colorful finish, wearing full length motoring coat, hat, scarf and goggles, 14 inches high.

The Amphora Works was established 1i 1892 at Turn (Trnovany), then in Bohemia. In 1893 the company won many prizes for artistic merit in competitions from Antwerp to Chicago. This figure justifies Amphora's reputation for detail and eccentric outlines. Note the open front of the Adderly styled coat, and the wide hat held on by scarf and goggles.

Automobilia lots will be available for collection until the end of the auction. Uncollected Automobilia lots will be removed to Bonhams New York, 580 Madison Avenue, for shipping or collection by the buyer or its authorized agent.
