This skilfully worked jade pendant is fashioned from mottled olive green jade, retaining natural pebble form with incised symbolic mark motifs across the front face and a carefully drilled suspension hole at the upper section with concentric internal detailing within the bore. The incised mark motifs symbolise auspicious blessing and good fortune within traditional Chinese iconography. The jade features an olive green base tone overlaid with heavy mottled russet patina and fine granular surface specks spread across the whole exterior. The surface is polished to a warm lustrous finish, with clean shallow incised carving forming the decorative symbols and finely worked concentric lines inside the drilled aperture.
