(A) NEW YORK ENGRAVED COLT MODEL 1877 THUNDERER DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER.

According to the Colt Factory archive letter, this gun left the factory as a .41 Colt with a 4 - 1/2" barrel. It was in the soft with the stocks not listed. It was shipped to Hartley & Graham New York, New York, on May 9, 1883, in a shipment of 10 guns. It was then New York engraved. It is engraved in a scroll and foliate pattern with a punch dot background. Two line barrel address on top of the barrel,"COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". There is an etched panel on the left side of the barrel, "COLT D.A. 41". Three line patent dates on the left side of the frame. "41 CAL." on the left rear trigger bow. Matching serial numbers observed on the frame, trigger guard, and the backstrap. The last three numbers of the serial number are on the back of the cylinder. Assembly number 668 is on the inside of the loading gate. It has two piece mother of pearl grips. CONDITION: This gun retains most of the retailer applied nickel finish, with most of the finish loss to the frame. Half moon front sight has been taken down a little. Dark bore with frosting in the lands and grooves. The action works in double action and hangs up a little bit in single action.
