A NICELY DRAWN EARLY 20TH CENTURY PERSIAN HERIZ CARPET

The Northwest Persian Heriz carpet with brick red field and floating navy blue diamond medallion is centered by an eight pointed star medallion further accented by two progressively smaller medallions in salmon and blue-green, the whole field is bracketed by traditional ivory spandrels but with an unusual trellis of boteh flower branches, the wide navy blue border encloses large flower heads of various colors divided by serrated leaves at angles, two saffron guard borders finish the outer frame.
