A Naples, Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea, cup and saucer, circa 1785-90
The well painted with a seated dog surrounded by an ouroboros surmounted by the inscription 'Mais je suis', surrounded by a gilt border with raised circles, the rim with four panels of pansy flower garlands alternating with gilt foliate panels, the cup similarly decorated with a butterfly and the inscription 'Je ne suis plus', the rims with gilt bands, the cup: 6cm high; the saucer: 14cm diam., crowned N mark in red (2)
