A North West Persian runner, possibly Hamadan, approximately 257 x 117cm Provenance: Berwick House, ShropshireCondition Report: Wear overall. Patches of additional wear to central field and borders reveal underlying weft and knot-heads. Some small losses to pile in places that appear to be from old moth damage (see images for extent). Longest edges have been re-bound in varying shades of madder thread. The edges are untidy with wear and some losses. Fringing has been replaced at one end. the fringing to the other end has been secured with later thread and strips of fabric to the underside. Both ends have wear, fraying and some losses.
