A Northern European, probably Scandinavian, carved and painted wood bread or chopping board, dated 1871, of large proportions, painted with light circles on turquoise ground, inscribed J. Mäder. 1871. to the centre, 86cm long, 69cm wide Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,The rear of this board is not painted, it appears to have been varnished previously this has worn away almost entirely - there are marks and indentations from use as a bread or chopping board.There are signs of old woodworm, some of this is filled some is open,Old splits and cracks and repairs, old chips and losses, The painted side with old dirt and discolouration to the edges and extremities Condition Report Disclaimer
