A Nuremberg faience tankard with Saint George
With a finely painted depiction of the Saint fighting the dragon against a landscape backdrop in a large foliate cartouche. Inscribed above with the patron's name "Johann Bauer 1754". With exotic flowers and a dotted pattern on the reverse. Unglazed base and blue K mark with three dots. Minor glaze chips. Pewter mountings. H with thumbrest 27.1 cm.
