A PAIR OF ARCHAIC STYLE BRONZE VASES, GU; A BRONZE 'QILIN' INCENSE BURNER; AND A BRONZE BASIN
Yuan/Ming Dynasty
The vases cast in the archaic style with two tiers of flanges and plantain lappets, variously enclosing turbulent waves, taotie and archaistic designs; the incense burner modelled as a recumbent qilin, the hinged head with open mouth forming the cover; the flower form basin cast with panels of flower sprays and aquatic birds.
The tallest vase 28cm (11in) high. (4).
