A PAIR OF ARCHAISTIC BRONZE VASES, FANGGU, EARLY QING DYNASTY

China, 17th-18th century. Each of square section, cast to each side of the mid-section with a taotie mask, below stylized dragons and upright cicada leaves to the flared neck, and above stylized phoenixes to the foot, all against leiwen grounds and separated by vertical dentiled flanges to the center and corners of each side. (2)

Provenance: Brussels trade. Acquired from a private collection.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and casting flaws, few small nicks, minor dents, light surface scratches.

Weight: 3.9 kg and 4 kg
Dimensions: Height 40.8 cm and 40.9 cm
