A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE-ROSE CUPS, COVERS AND STANDS Republic Period, Lin zhi cheng xiang marks 民國時期 粉彩嬰戲圖蓋盌一對 《麟指呈祥》款 Each flared cup painted to the exterior with a group of children, each clutching various processional ornaments as they stand in the company of three rams, the reverse with a pair of children holding similar objects, all amidst rockery and foliage, topped with a domed cover painted with the Three Abundances (sanduo) below a band of finely-painted blossoms, all raised on a similarly-decorated stand, each cup and cover bearing a four-character Lin zhi cheng xiang mark in iron-red enamel, the cups 10.7cm diameter (6) - NOTE: The phrase 'Linzhi chengxiang', which translates as 'The qilin's footprints reveal great luck', implies a wish for many sons.Click here to share:Request a condition report
