A PAIR OF EXCEPTIONAL LARGE CHINESE PRECIOUS
Each screen is impressively decorated as a display cabinet, duobaoge, with each level containing a precious object such as censers, ruyi sceptres, bi discs, boxes, fruits, elephants and double gourds, all inlaid in cloisonné enamel, hardstones, and mother of pearl, all on a red lacquered ground. The openwork wood friezes are gilt lacquered and one of the sections is fitted with a faux cabinet. The stand is decorated with carved kui dragons and archaistic scrolls.162 by 115 cm.
