A PAIR OF FAMILLE-ROSE BOUGH POTS AND COVERS
QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG PERIOD

flaring square body set with a pair of grapevine handles, brightly enamelled to each side with a rectangular panel enclosing family scenes on a turquoise ground and reserved against a low relief ground of floral sprigs and grapevine, each cover pierced with five identical apertures, handles now lost

Height 18.7 and 19.7 cm, 7⅜ and 7¾ in.

Condition Report:
There is a hairline crack (ca. 8.5 cm) extending from the rim of one pot, along with some small chips to the edges; the other pot has a chip to one of the four raised parts of the interior. The handles to both covers have chippings. There are general surface wear and losses to the gilding and enamels to both the pots and covers.
