A PAIR OF FAMILLE VERTE ‘ EIGHTEEN LUOHAN’ BOWLS, LATE QING-REPUBLIC PERIOD

Each bowl is decorated below the flared rim with eighteen luohan with their various attributes engaging in various pursuits. The base is inscribed with a four-character mark, da xiong bao dian (Mahavira Hall), encircled by two dragons in red enamel.

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of these piece acquired after their initial manufacture.
One bowl:
- There is one hairline crack extending from the mouth rim
- There is expected minor rubbing to the enamels

The other bowl:
- There is a short hairline crack to the mouth rim
- There is minor rubbing to the gilding.
