A PAIR OF GEORGE II CARVED SOFT WOOD WALL BRACKETS IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS JOHNSON, CIRCA 1755each 27cm high, 20.5cm wide, 13cm deep Condition Report: There are marks, cracks, scratches, knocks and abrasions consistent with age and use. There are traces of pale grey paint and white on the underlying pale softwood, with some areas of later coral coloured paint. There are some losses and repairs incorporating later timber, for example to the front area of each shelf, also some small patched repairs, with old holes from previous wall fixings to the back. There are some sectional construction cracks and some other cracks. The top of the brackets have notches, presumably to create a recess for an upright plate to slot, there are some traces of gilt and some later gilt paint.
