A PAIR OF GEORGE III SIDE TABLES, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY

the black marble and yellow fluorspar tops on ebonised mahogany stands
79cm. high, 111.5cm. wide, 52cm. deep; 2ft. 7in., 3ft. 7¾in., 1ft. 8½in.

Condition Report:
A striking pair of tables in country house condition. The tops with minor old marks and scratches and would benefit from a clean according to taste. The gadrooned edge of one has a chip and the corner of the other also with small loss. The stands are 18th century and listed with the tables in 1812 but were possibly associated at an earlier date as it appear the struts/baton supports to each stand has been removed to accommodate the tops. The stands themselves are lacking most of their pierced corner brackets and those that remain are damaged. Generally with old marks, scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use.
