A PAIR OF HUANGHUALI 'OFFICIAL'S HAT' ARMCHAIRS, SICHUTOUGUANMAOYI
19TH CENTURY
Each chair has a straight top rail raised on a plain back splat and curved rear posts, above the straight arms supported on recessed, curved front posts. The mat seat is set in a rectangular frame above plain aprons and spandrels. The whole is raised on molded legs of square section and joined by stepped stretchers and a foot rest at the front.
