A PAIR OF IRISH WILLIAM IV GILTWOOD CANED ARMCHAIRS, IN THE MANNER OF JAMES DEL VECCHIO, CIRCA 1835

Condition Report:
Some scattered losses to gilding throuhgout and slight flaking on one crest rail. Some age cracks, inactive worm holes in rails and typical age shrinkage at joints, but sturdy. Current owner has covered caned seats with plywood boards attached to frame with screws; these can be removed. Upholstery with some water stains. HIghly unusual and inventive model; interesting example of Irish design creativity.
