A PAIR OF LARGE FAMILLE ROSE VASES
19th century
Each of ovoid form rising to a waisted neck and a flared rim, painted in one panel with officials meeting under a pine tree and the other panel depicting warriors on horseback engaged in battle, the panels at the neck illustrating figures in interior and natural surroundings separately, all against a ground of auspicious fruits, flowers and butterflies, flanked by a pair of Buddhist lions grasping brocade balls.
