A PAIR OF MING BLUE AND WHITE SHALLOW PORCELAIN BOWLS

Of fluted circular forms, both decorated with a masculine ox under a tree in a garden with an overhead cloud. One plate has an apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark at the base, but both are Tianqi (162-1627) period pieces. One plate has a minor chip to its base rim, both have frittings along the top rims, both have sand stuck to the base due to firing process commensurate with age, otherwise all in overall great condition.
