A PAIR OF ORMOLU-MOUNTED ENGLISH PATE-SUR-PATE VASES, WEDGEWOOD, EARLY 20TH CENTURY

each of baluster form, the royal blue body with hanging grapevines, centered with a pair of oval cartouches along the top, with palmette motifs overall, the cover with pinecone and sunflower finial, the handles formed as a pair of female heads against a palmette, mounted atop plinths with beaded border, the covers stamped with maker's mark, one stamped with numeral 31 under base; height of each including cover: 28 cm (11 in.)

CONDITION
The pair is in overall excellent original condition. The mount on one cover and one of the head handle slightly loose. Some minor age-appropriate discoloration to the mounts. Miniscule dent of 3 mm (without loss to the pigment) to one vase, underneath and to the right of the medallion, as visible in the third catalogue image. Some white surface residue to another, as visible in the first and fourth catalogue images. Inspection under UV light shows no apparent signs of restoration.
