on mahogany tripod stands
The Celestial Globe with a cartouche reading: CARY'S NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE, ON WHICH are carefully laid down the whole of the STARS AND NEBULAE contained in the Catalogues of Wollaston, Herschel, Bode, Piazza, Zach &c. calculated to the Year 1820. Made & Sold by J. & W. Cary No. 181 Strand London 1818; the Terrestrial Globe with cartouche reading: CARY'S NEW TERRESTRIAL GLOBE, Drawn from the most recent GEOGRAPHICAL WORKS, shewing the whole of the New Discoveries with the TRACKS of the PRINCIPAL NAVIGATORS and every improvement in Geography to the present Time. LONDON Published by G. & J. Cary St. James's St. May 1821

Condition Report:
In reasonably good conditon overall with restorations to gores. The terrestrial globe with reapired crack and subsequent infill, patch and small losses around the Equator in the Western Hemisphere and South Pacific, and scattered rubbing and inpainted spots, Slight and stable separation of gores at the North Pole. The celestial globe with restoration along the Equator and the constellations ARIES, MONOCEROS and MELOPAR, and inpainting at both poles. Horizon rings with scattered rubbing, wear and discolouration. Stands are sturdy with typical scattered wear, marks and indentations commensurate with age.
