the terrestrial globe with a cartouche reading: CARY'S / NEW TERRESTRIAL GLOBE, / Drawn from the most recent / GEOGRAPHICAL WORKS, / shewing the whole of the New Discoveries / with the / TRACKS of the PRINCIPAL NAVIGATORS / and every improvement in Geography / to the present Time. / LONDON : / London Published by G&J Cary, St. James St. Jan. 5th 18.18; the celestial globe with a cartouche reading: CARY'S / NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE, / ON WHICH / are carefully laid down the whole of the / STARS AND NEBULE / contained in the Catalogues of / Wollaston Herschel, Bode, Piazzi, Zach & c. / calculated to the Year 1820. / Made and Sold by J&W Cary, No.181 Strand London 1818. / Note Greek letters or figures preferred to the Stars signify from the / British Catalogue... a Stroke drawn under the figures thus 150 / De la Caille... Condition Report:
Stands formerly with compasses, and with scattered minor nicks and losses commensurate with age. The gore of the celestial globe with a new puncture near south pole, could benefit from restoration in this area. The terrestrial globe in good conserved condition.
