A PAIR OF SHIWAN-WARE GLAZED 'WARRIOR' FIGURES AND A PAIR OF FLAMBÉ GLAZED FIGURES
19th-20th century
Comprising: a man and lady each similarly decorated in blue yellow, ochre and yellow glazes, similarly dressed in armour and raised on a circular cloud-form base; together with a pair of flambé-glazed figures of Immortals.
The largest 55cm (21 3/4in) high (4).

A very similar figure to the lady in the collection of the V&A Museum was lent to the Museum by the High Majesty Commissioners in 1871 for the International Exhibition and is illustrated in K. Lippincott, The Story of Time: London, National Maritime Museum, 1999 p.33.
