A PAIR OF SMALL HENAN BLACK-GLAZED LIDDED JARS
Song/Jin dynasty
Each with barrel-shaped body and high square shoulders, the domed lid slightly flared at the rim, the deep brown glaze verging on black, applied to the exterior of the jar and top of the lid, the interior thinly glazed, the underside of the lid and lower section of the jar unglazed exposing buff pottery body.
each 3in (7.5cm) diameter; 2 5/8in (6.7cm) high with lid

Condition Report: PLEASE NOTE: This report describes, but may not be limited to, major condition issues for the lot. Both jars and covers are in good, original condition with no restoration. Small shallow chips to underside of each foot, tiny nicks to rims, but they do not interfere with viewing. Good examples of domestic/export ware of the period.
