A pair of snaphance holster flintlock pistols
dating: circa 1700 provenance: Tuscany, Smooth-bore, two-stage, 14 mm cal. barrels, first octagonal then round, with rings at the girdle; smooth tangs; snaphance locks engraved with floral motifs and slightly chiselled, with sliding pan cover, signed inside (barely readable because under the spring); briar-root stocks (small damages and repairs), slightly embossed under the barrels, iron mounts, trigger guards and butt-plates with rosettes chiselled in high-relief, counter-plates with belt hook. Iron-tipped, wooden ramrods, one with cartridge extractor. length 51 cm.
