Each of pear shaped form with a wide waisted neck raised on a short unglazed foot, painted with sprays of camellia, all on a creamy mushroom-grey glaze with crackles.

Underglaze-blue decoration on a crackled ground, also known as 'underglaze-blue on a Ge-glaze ground', refers to wares first made in the Jizhou kilns at the end of the Ming Dynasty. For a vase of similar type and form see S. Little, Chinese Ceramics of the Transitional Period: 1620-1683, page 41, pl. 4, where it is noted that a vessel of this type was recovered from a tomb dated to 1624 at Nanchang, Jiangxi province.
