A PALE CELADON JADE 'DOUBLE GOURD' PENDANT, QING DYNASTY

China, 17th-18th century. Carved in the form of a double gourd borne of a leafy stem forming two openings for cord suspension. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with faint russet veins and inclusions.

Provenance: From a private collection in the United Kingdom, by repute acquired at Christie's London in 1991.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, little nibbling, and a minuscule chip to one leaf. The stone with natural fissures, some of which have developed into fine hairline cracks.
