A PALE CELADON JADE 'DOUBLE PHOENIX' PENDANT, WARRING STATES STYLE
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or earlier. Of flattened form, well carved and reticulated with a central disc framed by two opposing stylized dragons and surmounted by two confronted phoenix heads. Each side neatly incised with S- and C-scrolls within lined borders. The translucent stone of a celadon tone with pale green patches and creamy-white inclusions.
Provenance: From an old German private collection.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and little nibbing. The stone with natural fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks.
