A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE HEHE ERXIAN GROUP AND A WHITE AND GREY JADE CARVING OF LIU HAI, THE BOYS GROUP, 19TH CENTURY THE LIUHAI AND TOAD GROUP, 19TH - EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The first is carved as the laughing twins, one holding a lotus and the other a musical instrument. The stone is of an even, pale tone. The second is cleverly carved using the colour of the stone to depict Liu Hai in white jade holding a string of coins on top of the three-legged toad in grey jade.
