A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE 'SPRING WATER' OVAL PLAQUE, YUAN-MING DYNASTY, 14TH-16TH CENTURY

The plaque is carved in openwork with a goose in flight amidst the intertwining stems of a lotus plant and water weeds. There are opaque areas of ivory color in the stone.

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- There is a section of loss with associated polish to top proper right edge and to the bird.
- There are small shallow chips with associated polish to top proper left edge and bottom edge.
- There is a crack on proper right side.
- There are small chips, nicks and minor areas of polish to carved decoration.
- There are opaque areas and irregularities in stone which are inherent to the material.
