circular, the lid finely painted with flowers, peaches, grapes and a pear, probably by Jean Maystre (1770-1834), on a translucent blue enamel ground over wavy engine-turning, the sides with ornaments of chased flowers within square frames of white and black enamel, the base with wavy sun-ray patterned engine-turning within a white enamel border and a stylised garland of alternating gold flowers in blue circles and elegant gold leaves, pinned disc musical movement, maker's mark IGRC in a horizontal lozenge, unofficial PC3 18 ct standard mark, with key

Condition Report:
Translucent blue enamel to the sides nearly completely lost, gold liner missing; enamel on central panel on base missing; footrim bent, resulting in a partial gap between base and side; the fine painting on the lid in very good condition
