dating: mid-19th Century provenance: USA, Rifled, two-stage, 12 mm cal. barrel, with a ring at the girdle, provided with iron foresight and sight, featuring geometrical engravings at the base and the tang, with rib at the lower part; forward spring lock, engraved with floral motifs, marked 'A. W. SPIES Co. WARRANTED' and outlined, the neck of the hammer slightly engraved and outlined. Wooden half stock, checkered at the neck; brass mounts, patchbox with brass cover and a large, brass frame decorated with spirals and pierced, trigger guard with relieved tang, at the neck a silver shield of oval shape, at the cheek-piece a white metallic inlay. Brass-tipped wooden ramrod. length 136 cm.
