China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The round ink stone with pale blue glaze to the sides and stepped base with an apocryphal six-character Yongzheng reign mark in underglaze blue and within a double-circle.
Condition: Good condition with some firing imperfections and age-related wear.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
