A PORTUGUESE SILVER FILIGREE AND ENAMEL BOOK FORM BOX. Portuguese, 19th Century, the covers and spine worked in gilt filigree within turquoise enamel borders and applied with green enamelled scrolls, the front cover inset with an oval enamel plaque of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, crowned and holding the Christ Child who extends a scapular, within a border of applied silver beads, the back cover with the Sacred Heart beneath a cross, the interior with an oval plaque inscribed in black N.a S.a do CARMO within penwork scrolls. 3.6cm by 3cm
