A Pair George III Mahogany Open Armchairs, Late 18th Century
repairs to armrests

Condition Report:
In good appearance overall. Both chairs with repairs to joints where the armrests connect to the stiles; one chair has a dowel reinforcement to this joint on the proper left side. The other with an old break to the lower portion of the proper right armrest, previously secured with glue but is now coming loose and will need attention. In general with scattered nicks and chips as well as areas with infill throughout. Caned seats in good condition and very sturdy. Loose seat cushions of varying design and with staining and wear.
