late 19th or early 20th century, a pair of kneeling attendants or dancers, their bodies are painted with red lacquer and gilt, with realistic painted eyes and serene expressions to their faces, elaborately dressed in gold garments applied with raised gilt decoration and inlaid with colored glass, wearing conical shaped headdresses similarly decorated to garments, elongated hands and fingers in various mudras, their feet are tucked behind their bodies.
